Dear Christopher
July 29th is my brothers birthday
He turned 41 this year
He died 33 years ago
Every year is a difficult remembrance
And time blurs memories
I hold on tight to what remains
What stays most vivid is the pain
I didn’t speak for a year
My sister became my comfort
As my parents were consumed by grief
As siblings, our trio was no longer complete
A bright future that was stolen
A family that lost their son
But that bright smile and quick temper
Will always remain
It will bring me to tears
Thinking of him
My best friend
From a lifetime ago

Today, I was finally able to sit with my thoughts and the loss. It happens every year, but this year has been a little more heavy than usual. Getting something on paper really helped, writing through the tears. Thank you for being here with me.
Extra: this song has been in my head all morning.

Sending compassion to you, Mads 💕
No real words to express other than it must to tough, and my thoughts are with you. 🫂
